Datenna Welcomes Sir Alex Younger, Former Chief of MI6, as Advisory Board Member

Eindhoven, Netherlands – January 20, 2025 – Datenna, the global provider of techno-economic intelligence on China, today announced that Sir Alex Younger, former Chief of the UK's Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), has joined the company as a member of its Advisory Board. In this role, Sir Alex will work closely with Datenna's executive team to provide strategic guidance on aligning the company's mission with emerging national security challenges.

Over a career spanning more than three decades – which makes him the longest-serving MI6 chief in 50 years – Sir Alex held pivotal roles within MI6, including Director of Counter Terrorism (2009–2012) and Head of Operations (2012–2014). As Chief of MI6, he guided the agency through complex global challenges and spearheaded its adaptation to the digital era. A recognized authority on national security, Sir Alex has emphasized the importance of addressing technological competition, particularly involving China, and the strategic implications of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

At Datenna, Sir Alex will advise on strategic initiatives to expand the company's global footprint, strengthen its market positioning, and establish key partnerships to support organizations in mitigating risks related to technological and geopolitical developments.
